Before you can take paid tests on your mobile device, you'll need to install the UserTesting app and complete a practice test. The practice test helps you get familiar with what it's like to take tests and ensures you're ready to deliver helpful, high-quality feedback.
Get started with your practice test:

- Sign in to your account
- Start your test from the Home screen
- Complete a microphone check
- Learn to use the task button
- Share your screen and enable your microphone
- Speak your thoughts out loud
- Submit your test for review

Download the UserTesting app from your device’s app store:
Sign in to your UserTesting account
- Open the UserTesting app.
- Sign in using the same email and password you used to create your account.
Start your test from the Home screen
Just tap the Take a practice test task.

Complete a microphone check
You’ll think out loud during your test, so the microphone check ensures we can hear you clearly.

During the test, you'll use the task button to view and hide the instructions as you go.
Share your screen and enable your microphone
We’ll need to hear you and see what’s happening on your screen during the test. This all gets uploaded as a recording that our team manually reviews to verify that you're comfortable thinking out loud while performing tasks.
Speak your thoughts out loud
As you complete each task, read the instructions out loud and say what you’re doing, why you're doing it, and what you're thinking.
Submit your test for review
After completing all the tasks, it’s time to upload your test! Our team will manually review it, and we’ll send you an email with the results.

I can’t install the app
- Confirm your device meets the minimum system requirements.
- Check your storage—try deleting unused apps or files if you’re low on space.
My microphone isn’t working
- Go to your device settings and ensure the UserTesting app has microphone access.
- Restart your device and try again.

The app crashes or freezes
- Force close the app and reopen it.
- Make sure you’re using the latest app version from the App Store or Google Play.
