To use the UserTesting Android mobile app, you'll need to allow the app to access certain features on your device. We understand that these permissions may seem confusing, so you can use this article to understand a bit more about what type of access each permission grants to the UserTesting app.

Privacy Permissions
Audio
- record audio
- This allows the app to record your feedback through your microphone.
Accounts
- find accounts on the device
- use accounts on the device
- These permission are used to log in / sign up contributors using accounts found on the device.
Device Access Permissions
Network Connections
- full network access
- This allows the app to communicate with our servers to upload your completed recordings.
- view network connections
- This allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.
- view Wi-Fi connections
- This allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and the name of connected Wi-Fi devices.
Application Access
- retrieve running apps
- This allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks.

- draw over other apps
- This allows our recorder to track your gestures and draw them on the screen so the client can see how you navigate their website or app.
NOTE: During a test, some websites might ask you to enable certain Android permissions. In rare cases, you might need to temporarily disable our app in order to enable those permissions, before you can continue your test.
To do this, tap on our app’s menu button, and then tap the "Permissions help" button.
