This guide covers everything you need to know about recorded tests.
Here are some tips:
Before you accept a test
Confirm you qualify for the test
Carefully review the test requirements to make sure you're qualified to participate. If you don’t meet the requirements, don’t accept the test. It won't take long for the customer to realize you weren't a good fit, and you'll risk receiving a low rating and cancellation of your payment.
Example: If the customer requires that you live in Australia, don’t accept the test invite if you live somewhere else.
Answer each screener question honestly
Remember, it pays to be honest. If your answers don’t match your actual experience, the customer may request cancellation of your test payment and leave a low rating.
Protect your privacy
Close any personal chats, tabs, windows, or applications to avoid sharing private or sensitive information during the test.
During your test
Now it’s time to record! Here’s how to make a good impression:
Understand the scenario
a What do customers expect from you during a test? You can usually find out in the scenario! Take time to read and fully understand it.
Check your audio
Make sure your microphone is working correctly. The microphone icon should move as you speak.
- If the icon flashes yellow or red: Your audio is too loud, which may cause quality issues.
- If the icon doesn’t move, The recorder isn't picking up your audio.
Follow the test instructions carefully
Complete each task in the order it appears—don’t skip ahead. If you run into an issue, report a problem so we can help.
Speak your thoughts out loud

- “I’m not sure what to do next here.”
- “I expected this button to take me to a checkout page.”
