How is my username used?
Your username is the only way our customers can identify you on the UserTesting platform. Customers may save your username to send tests directly to you, so please choose something appropriate.
Are there any rules for my username?
Your username:
- Can't contain more than 4 consecutive letters of your first name
- Can't contain more than 4 consecutive letters of your last name
- Can't exactly match your PayPal
- Must be less than 128 characters
Who will see my username?
Since the customer owns the videos submitted for their test (see Terms of Service, section 5.2), anyone that they choose to share a video with may see the username associated with that video.
UserTesting employees also have access to your username.
Where can I find my username?
You can view your username from your dashboard.
Look up your username on a computer:
Just log into your UserTesting account, and open the dashboard dropdown menu.
💡Tip: Look for the circle with the first letter of your username in its center.
Look up your username from the UserTesting mobile app:
Tap the Profile icon from the navigation menu. When you open your profile section, your username will be the first item listed.
What happens if I don’t change my username?
In order to address contributor privacy and compliance requirements such as GDPR, we no longer allow contributors to include any personally identifiable information (PII) in their usernames.
If you had PII in your username and didn't change it by August 6, 2019, then we automatically changed your username to a format of [Adjective][Noun].
