What is the Seamless Desktop Recorder?
The Seamless Desktop Recorder is UserTesting’s latest recorder. Currently, you'll only see this recorder if you complete a session on a Firefox, Edge, or Safari web browser.
It’s a simple-to-use recorder that doesn’t require adding an extension to your web browser or downloading any software. Unlike the UserTesting Browser Recorder, your task instructions won’t appear on-screen in a moveable task widget.
Instead, when you start your test, you’ll see your tasks instructions on a web page. To complete the test, you’ll need to keep this page open.
Any content a customer asks you to navigate during a test (a website, prototype, etc.) will open in a new tab. You’ll switch between the task instructions in the first tab and this test content in the second tab throughout your test.
Do I have to install anything before I start my test?
No, you don’t need to install any software or browser extensions! Once you’ve completed the Quick Setup steps, you’ll be ready to start your test.
